I am redoubling my efforts in parliament to strip Sir Fred Goodwin, the disgraced former Chief Executive of RBS, of the knighthood he was awarded in 2004 “for services to banking”.

I want the so called Forfeiture Committee of senior civil servants to look at the issue and make a recommendation to the Prime Minister.

I am also pressing for action on Goodwin’s grotesquely extravagant £700,000 a year pension. If I had my way most of it would be clawed back.

It is time for a tax system that’s fair. One that tackles the super rich who shelter their assets in off-shore tax havens.
